You ask, we answer!
Excel to Excel integration by Coupler.io is the most actionable solution to automate data import from one worksheet to another in Excel files placed on OneDrive. It also allows you to import sheets between Excel files stored on different OneDrive accounts. You may use either Excel Online or a desktop application to work with these files.
Compared to the native Workbook Links feature, Coupler.io actually imports the data from one sheet to another. This means that you’ll have data both in the source and destination sheet, even if the link between them was broken or interrupted. Another benefit is that you can select multiple sheets to export. The data from them will be merged into one master sheet.
To automate the import, select Excel on OneDrive and specify the source and destination sheets. After that, configure the schedule, for example, every hour between 2 and 3 PM. Other parameters for automatic data refresh include the interval, days of the week, time range, and time zone.
In Excel, there is no function that would be an alternative to IMPORTRANGE in Google Sheets. However, Excel allows you to link a data range between two worksheets or workbooks in another way. For this, you need to select a range of cells in the source workbook and copy them. Then open the destination Excel file, right-click on a cell where you want to insert the range, and select Paste Link. Now, if you change values in the source range, those changes will be visible in the destination range as well.
